Tips & Tricks to ‘Watch Dogs: Legion’

Watch Dogs: Legion allows you to assemble an army of hacktivists and utilize their abilities to fight back against an oppressive regime that has taken over London. To achieve this goal, you’ll need to use every trick a ragtag team of skilled hackers has at their disposal.

In this Watch Dogs: Legion tips and tricks guide, we’ll teach you all the incredible skills you need to sneak and hack your way through any situation.

Scan the Area

They say knowledge is power; the same applies to Watch Dogs: Legion. Before entering a restricted area, you must know what you’re about to get into. By hacking a drone, you can get a bird’s-eye view of the area to find out where your target is and what dangers await. If the short-range drone is not sufficient, you can use it to further hack into cameras within your target area and get a lay of the land.

Hack Cargo Drones

Cargo drones are one of the most versatile tools in Watch Dogs: Legion. You can use them for anything, from scaling tall buildings to getting behind enemy lines. You can even use them to pick up cargo and drop them onto explosives to clear out a group of enemies. This is why it’s always handy to have a construction worker-type operative who can summon a cargo drone anytime.

Disrupt Police and Albion Drones

When the police and Albion are after you in Watch Dogs: Legion, they’ll likely be siccing their highly lethal drones on you. The best way to deal with these is to hack them to either take control or disrupt them. For the former, you’ll likely need a few upgrades, but they’re well worth the investment of your hard-earned ETO. Some operatives also have access to attack drones out the gate. So if you know that you’re going to enter a den of snakes, you might be better off using them over other team members.

Build Up Your ETO

ETO is the lifeblood of your team of DedSec operatives in Watch Dogs: Legion. You can find it pretty much anywhere. By checking your map, you’ll discover ETO pick-up locations marked by a green diamond-shaped icon. On many occasions, you’ll need to sneak into a particular area or even scale a building. Spending time acquiring these scattered ETO stashes goes a long way toward building a solid team of operatives with plenty of toys to play with. However, one thing the game doesn’t tell you is that you can hack ATMs for ETO as well. In fact, even operatives can withdraw larger amounts of ETO from ATMs thanks to their perks.

Get Shock Hack

You can perform simple hacks on enemies in Watch Dogs: Legion, including distracting them or hacking their phones. There are some operatives, however, which can make use of the Shock Hack. This will electrocute enemies, knocking them out temporarily, along with half of their health. It’s a great way to thin out the herd when you enter a restricted area and want to be as stealthy as possible.

Check for Fast Travel

Watch Dogs: Legion is clear about your hideout and base of operations being a fast travel spot. What it doesn’t tell you, though, is that the various metro stations scattered around the oppressed city of London also serve as fast travel spots. You can tell which ones you’ve unlocked by heading into your map and clicking on the white metro symbols. So before choosing to hoof it or grab a car, it’s a good idea to check your map for any stations near your target location.

Get Back Into Cover

As you go about your business hacking and sneaking through different corners of London, you’ll inevitably find yourself under pursuit by the police and Albion agents. While shooting your way out of this situation is always an option, there’s an easier way to lose them. You simply need to run out of their line of sight and get behind cover. They’ll still walk up to you, but if they haven’t seen you actually hide, they’ll only look around for a bit, then call it quits and leave you alone. You can then pay attention to the read pursuit markers and wait until they turn white before coming out of cover.

Look for Spiderbot Boxes

Having a spiderbot in your Watch Dogs: Legion operative’s inventory is always an excellent idea. Those little bugs are extremely handy and can be used to get through most missions. Many areas, however, have a spiderbot box you can use to call upon a mechanical arachnid friend by hacking into it. This means you can have a free inventory slot for another gadget or tool and use the box in the area to call upon a spiderbot if needed.

Operatives with Uniformed Access

Watch Dogs: Legion is all about amassing an army of operatives to help DedSec take back London. This means you can recruit anybody. Literally, anybody you see around you. Even members of Albion, the police, and anyone else wearing a uniform. If you manage to recruit such operatives, they can make getting into restricted buildings and areas much more accessible.
