Meta Muse is a personal AI agent designed to carry out tasks across connected services. It is worth investigating if your usual AI conversations end with a list of things you still need to do yourself.
This guide explains where to get the app and how to approach a first task. It is based on official documentation checked on September 30, 2026, rather than a hands-on performance review.

What is Meta Muse?
Meta introduced Muse on September 8, 2026. It describes an agent that can browse websites, complete forms and work across connected apps. Longer jobs can continue after you close the app.
The practical question is whether delegating a task saves you effort once you include explaining your requirements and checking the result. A successful demonstration does not tell you how reliably an agent will handle your own accounts or an unfamiliar website.
For a first attempt, choose something with an answer you can inspect: a shortlist, a comparison or a draft. You will learn more from one clearly defined job than from asking it to “organize my life.”

The iPhone listing names Meta Platforms, Inc. as the seller, requires iOS 18.0 or later, and carries an 18+ rating. Those are useful checks when similarly named apps appear in search results.
Start Android downloads from Meta’s page rather than a third-party APK directory. We have not independently verified a Google Play package identifier for this guide.
Meta also describes access through WhatsApp. An existing Meta AI conversation in WhatsApp should not be treated as proof that your account has Muse access.
Is Muse available outside the US?
Meta’s launch announcement specifies a US rollout on iOS, Android and the web. It does not establish a worldwide release date.
If you are in the UK, Bulgaria or another market, check the official product page and your local store. We have not verified country-by-country access as of September 30. A US store page, or a language listed in the app’s description, does not establish eligibility in your country.
If you encounter a waitlist or an unavailable-region message, treat that as an access limitation. Reinstalling the app is unlikely to resolve a rollout restriction. Avoid paying strangers for invitation codes.
Is Meta Muse free?
Meta says Muse is free for most uses, with subscriptions for higher usage. Free access should not be read as unlimited access.
Before paying, inspect the plan shown to your account: its allowance, billing period, renewal price and cancellation route. This guide does not quote subscription prices or usage caps because we have not verified the current checkout terms.
How to approach your first Muse task
Our five practical Muse prompts expand these examples into tasks with clear requirements and checks.
Use the official app or website and follow the sign-in instructions presented to your account. Then begin with a task that does not require connecting personal services.
These are suggested prompts, not results we obtained in testing:
Compare a purchase without buying it
Find three wireless headphones under $100 available in the US. Prioritize comfort, multipoint Bluetooth and a clear returns policy. Show retailer links and the total listed price. Do not purchase anything.
Inspect the actual retailer pages before relying on the comparison. Check model numbers, delivery charges and whether the price belongs to a refurbished item.
Research a small part of a trip
Find three rainy-day activities in Amsterdam for two adults on November 23, 2026. Keep admission below €40 per person. Link to official booking pages and flag anything whose opening hours you cannot confirm. Do not book.
Keeping the job small makes it easier to spot an incorrect opening time or a recommendation outside your budget. Provide the year when using a date in your own request.
Turn a project into a usable plan
Help me prepare a weekend decluttering project. I have two hours on Saturday and one on Sunday. Ask about the rooms before making the plan, then give me a checklist that fits those time limits.
Judge the answer by whether you can follow it. More tasks on a checklist do not necessarily make the plan more useful.
What happens when you connect accounts?
Meta’s security documentation describes separate controls for connected services and an approval system for actions. Where supported, read access and permission to make changes can be separated. The same document explicitly acknowledges that Muse can make mistakes.
Our recommendation is to add a connection when a specific task needs it. Read each permission request and decide whether its scope fits that task. An inbox summary and permission to send messages are different commitments.
After a connected task, check the underlying service. Confirm the actual recipient, calendar entry or transaction rather than relying only on the agent’s completion message. A prompt asking for approval is useful, but it does not replace the app’s permission controls.
Is Muse the same as Meta AI or Muse Spark?
These names describe different parts of Meta’s AI offering. The launch announcement identifies Muse as the personal agent and Muse Spark as the model powering it. Meta AI is also listed as a separate app in Meta’s App Store portfolio.
When following a tutorial, check the product name and screenshots. Instructions written for Meta AI may not describe Muse’s interface or access requirements.
Should you try it?
Try a small, verifiable task if you have access and want help completing several steps. Compare the time saved against the effort of checking the output. That is a more useful measure than how confident or personable the agent sounds.

Why can’t I download Muse?
Check your store region, device requirements and the access message shown by Meta. Download availability and account access are separate checks; neither should be inferred from a US listing alone.
Does Muse keep working when the app is closed?
Meta advertises background work for longer tasks. Keep track of jobs you start and review their outcome before treating them as complete.
Do I need to connect email to try it?
Begin with a research or planning request. If a particular task needs a connection, review that request at that point rather than granting broad access as your first experiment.
