GTA 5: How the new PlayStation 5 version compares to the PlayStation 4 predecessor?

Grand Theft Auto V for the PlayStation 5 console got officially released on March 15.

That new-gen console gave Rockstar Games the chance to continue its’ spree of unprecedented longevity. It might have been ancient history if it was any other game, but Grand Theft Auto marks 9 years of existence this year. Despite the excellent name, gaming fans of the sequence can’t help but wonder if the game is any different on the next-gen console. One of the top promises that Rockstar Games vowed to meet is improved loading times and graphics enhancement. For this, the gaming studio shared details still before the release that the game will hold three graphic modes:

  1. Fidelity Mode
  2. Performance Mode
  3. Performance Mode with Ray Tracing

Video Games Chronicle made an advanced move and compared the game on both PS consoles with the game running at native 4K, and ray tracing enabled to show off the PS5 version’s graphical power. After reviewing the beautiful graphics, we hate to say it, but the new version makes the PS4 game look quite old. We are talking old, as in one-foot-in-the-grave-old.

Still, check if you can notice any distinguishable difference in the sharpness or the colors in the compared imagery.

GTA 5 similarities on PS5 and PS4

There is one thing about GTA that never changes, despite the unsparing onset of time, technology, and graphics in our case above. That is the lucrative appeal of turning yourself into a lethal killing machine that’s having tons of fun in the game. But we are not talking about the regular kind of gameplay experience. We’re more like asking you that fundamental question, every GTA fan has to answer for himself at some point.

Why play by the rules when you can simply cheat?

Let’s face it; the Grand Theft Auto series was never about following the rules. So, if you want to get dirty, we’ve compiled a list of GTA 5 cheats that work on both PS4 and PS5.

Still, before you decide to go down that road, remember you will not receive any trophies for your crooked gaming session. Only if you care about those good-to-nobody account decorations, that is. In which case, you will need to start over with a clean slate from your last save to earn those awards again.
