As of end of Jan 2025, ‘DeepSeek – AI Assistant’ officially dethroned ChatGPT from the number 1 spot of the most-downloaded free mobile applications for both Android and Apple devices! In fact, the new Chinese chatbot star took the first place in the App Store almost as soon as the new year started, and few weeks later it did so on the much larger Google Play store too, undoubtedly making it the most-wanted app right now!
But is it all a marketing trick, or is DeepSeek R1, owned by the High-Flyer startup, really better than OpenAI’s ChatGPT-4o?
